About Holistic Horse Education

Holistic Horse Education aims to educate horse owners in how to train and keep horses using science based ethical training methods.

Tanya has been rescuing and rehabilitating horses since 2005, she specializes in horses with severe behavioral issues and unhandled horses. First ensuring that the horses physical, psychological, and social needs are met we then continue the rehabilitation process using positive reinforcement, with an aim of having a well adjusted, calm, physically and mentally healthy, confident, and keen to learn horse.

Positive reinforcement/Clicker training, one of the 4 learning quadrants, is a gentle, logical, force free way of training. It is easy for all ages to use and will help beginners to experienced horse people learn how to break behaviors down into easily achievable steps, bringing even the most complex behaviors into your reach, and making the small everyday ones an absolute pleasure for you and your horse.

Tanya French is a practicing Hoof Care Practitioner and is completing her qualification as an Equine Behaviorist.

We are located in the beautiful Yarra Valley in Victoria, Australia, on a 20 acre property that is being set up as a sustainable horse keeping facility.

Our horses are kept in herds, and we have a large gravel/rock loafing area that opens up into our larger grass paddocks, to optimize hoof health and keep our paddocks from being over grazed and compacted.

We have a myriad of other animals who have found their way here over the years. Dogs, Chooks, Guinea Fowl, Goats, Mules, our Pig Peggy. All are kept and trained using positive reinforcement.
