Lack the confidence to give it a try?
Can’t get a hoof care professional in regularly?
Train with positive reinforcement and can’t find a hoof care professional to work with you?

Can’t find a hoof care professional who knows how to trim your donkey or mule?
How Can You Learn Such a Hands-On Skill Online?
You just have to pick up that rasp and practice. Having taught many in-person workshops over the years, I’ve found that you can often learn more online when you have access to the information to go back to whenever you need it. The Maintenance Trimming for Horse Owners course is designed to give you the confidence and knowledge you need, with information you can keep coming back to.
Our brains are like sponges, we can only soak up so much learning at a time. Online learning allows you to come back and repeat the course multiple times, so you absorb the material at your own pace and revisit topics at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions
How is the course run?
The course is run completely online, it has videos, diagrams, and written resources on my website. I also have a Facebook group for students where you can ask questions and post photos of your trims.
How long does it take to complete?
There is approximately 4.5 hours of video content with multiple written articles and diagrams. I recommend doing a module a week over 8 weeks.
Do I need prior knowledge?
No, this course is designed for an owner who has no prior knowledge of hoof care and anatomy.
What tools do I need?
A good pair of gloves, a wire brush hoof pick, and a rasp are the absolute basics. I make recommendations of brands and other tools in the course.
I have a donkey or mule, does the course cover trimming them?
Yes, the donkeys and mules are some of my favourite clients. I completely understand how hard it can be to get a professional who understands them behaviourally and physically.
Do I need to be physically fit to trim my own horse?
To a degree yes, trimming is hard work, but if your horse is able to stand calmly you can just trim one hoof a day. You don’t have to do all 4 hooves in one go. Most of my students find this really helps to get them started.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds aren’t possible if you change your mind after purchasing your membership. That’s less than the cost of 2 professional trims a year over the span of the 3 years. Don’t forget you have plenty of time to access the information so it’s money we’ll spent.
How long will I have access to the course for?
3 years, that should be enough to get the information into that sponge! I update the course as new information becomes available, and as I get requests for new subjects or content.
